Top 10 Movies You Should Watch At Least Once in Your Life
Movies do not simply entertain. It is true that some movies last a lifetime; or even years. They cause us to think, cry, smile and look at the world in a new light. I have over the years seen hundreds of movies, some at night when I was alone, with friends and with the family on a Sunday when I was taking it easy. But few indeed make a difference on the heart.
This is a well-selected list of 10 films that one should see at least once in their life. Such are not ordinary famous films; they are significant, touching and memorable. This list is not only of the regular movie lovers but also those who go to movies every now and then.
1. The Shawshank Redemption
This film is an exquisite piece of knowledge about faith and forbearance. It is a film with a prison setting and the story of how to be a friend and never give up despite life being unfair.
I recall that I was watching this film without any prior expectations- and I found myself silently moved at the conclusion of it. It also helps us to remember that nothing lasts forever and there is always hope even in the most challenging of locations.
2. Forrest Gump
Life becomes easy according to the eyes of Forrest. This film educates us that one does not have to be intelligent or strong in order to lead a good life.
The conversations are plain, the feelings are innocent and the road is memorable. It is the type of film which can be re-watched many times, and there is still something will be new each time.
3. The Godfather
This is not merely a crime film, it is a movie concerning family, loyalty and power. The characters are believable and the passions are poignant.
Although you may not be a fan of gangster films, this is worth watching to watch how it is told and some of the memorable scenes. It is tedious, and each scene counts.
4. Spirited Away
Never be misled by the animation, this is an adult film as well. It is enchanted, sentimental and very significant.
The film is like a dream with its weird yet beautiful scenes. It discusses maturity, bravery and self discovery. I have seen it when I was spending a relaxing evening and it was like stepping into a different realm.
5. Titanic
Well, the majority of people are aware of the ending. Yet, Titanic is not necessarily about a ship being submerged, but of love, the class disparities, and human feelings.
This film is memorable because of the music, visual, and performances. It is emotional, yet not making much effort, and that is why it continues to appeal to people even nowadays.
6. Parasite
This film has its twists and turns. It begins small, yet gradually turns out to be a lot more.
Parasite is an excellent discussion of society, money, and the differences in classes that seem real and uncomfortable. I was not able to think of anything after I saw it more than days, this is what marks a great film.
7. The Dark Knight
This is a brilliant movie even when you are not a fan of superheroes. It is passionate, heart-felt, and mind-bending.
The bad guy is the star of the show and the plot begs a big question: What is it really like to be good? This movie has become the benchmark of the superhero films.
8. 3 Idiots
A film about Indians that can be related to by both generations. It is about education, pressure, friendship and pursuing your passion.
I have witnessed individuals laugh and cry at the same time when viewing this movie. It is lively, touching, and extremely familiar- particularly to the students and parents.
9. Life Is Beautiful
It is among the most emotional films ever produced. It was written in a time when many people have lost their lives in a tragic period in the history of the world and demonstrates that love and imagination can safeguard innocence.
The movie is depressing, yet it is also very heartfelt. It teaches us that kindness and hope are important even during horrible circumstances.
10. Inception
This film is thought provoking- but in an entertaining manner. It is all about dreams, ideas and the ability of the mind.
Sometimes, you are likely to be confused, and that is fine. It is one of those films where post viewing discussions are as good as the movie.
